The DHSc provides a scientific expertise which spans the spectrum of health care and has enabled me to obtain a position as a Senior Scientist with the General Dynamics Information Technology Corporation, where I direct operations for a research staff and serve as the Senior Science Manager for a $60,000,000.00 Military Operational Medicine Research Program of the United States Army Medical.

We support ministers in leading the nation’s health and social care to help people live more independent, healthier lives for longer. DHSC is a ministerial department, supported by 29 agencies.

The words of Mother Teresa -“Love begins at home” – serve as the motto of The Diocesan Housing Services Corporation of the Diocese of Camden (DHSC). They form a part of a deeper thought, conveyed by Mother Teresa in her 1979 Nobel Peace Prize lecture:

Because I believe that love begins at home, and if we can create a home for the poor – I think that more and more love will spread.

It is in this spirit of love and service that DHSC was established with the mission of providing quality affordable housing for low and moderate income households in New Jersey’s six southern counties (Atlantic, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem).

DHSC operates a portfolio of more than 700 apartment units with a special emphasis on serving senior citizens and persons with disabilities. With a strong team of property management, maintenance and social service professionals, DHSC strives to be the housing of choice for eligible individuals and families in the communities we serve.

Our work is rooted in the laws, teachings, social ministry and moral practices of the Roman Catholic Church and we provide services to people in need on a non-sectarian and non-discriminatory basis.

Brian Martin, PhD, MBA

Dr. Martin has taught students, provided service and conducted research in the area of health services administration since 2001. Along with his role as Director of the Doctor of Health Sciences program, he serves as Associate Dean of the School of Health Professions and Director of the Master of Public Health program.

Dr. Rhodes specializes in communications and management. He oversees EVMS Marketing & Communications, develops the institution’s strategic communications plan and supports its executive communications. Dr. Rhodes has devoted much of his career to public relations and education. Prior to joining EVMS, he served as Communications Manager and Clerk of the School Board for Norfolk Public Schools, the largest urban school system in Virginia and one of the 150 largest school systems nationwide. He also taught high school English, journalism and TV production courses. Prior to becoming an educator, he worked as managing editor of the national scuba diving magazine Sport Diver.
